Job Summary

With minimal supervision, the Software Engineer III designs, develops and maintains software used in Laird products utilizing a broad knowledge of software, hardware and development processes.

Responsibilities
  • Leads software development projects following a formal process, including software design, development, code reviews, use of software standards, and testing
  • Provides broad application support, analysis, and design related to applications running expansive business systems/functions globally
  • Coordinates the design, development and testing of new applications, as well as interfaces
  • Prepares, reviews and approves documents, including requirements analysis, design, unit testing plans, release notes and user guides etc.
  • May interact with clients to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications
  • Collaborates effectively with other groups and business partners
  • Delivers training, supervision and mentoring to the software development team
  • Investigates, recommends and implements new technologies
Requirements
  • Rich knowledge on defining project scope, deliverables and team requirements
  • Ability to lead project teams and deliver results against milestones and deliverables
  • Proficient with various technology, which may include: ASP, .NET, C, C++, C#, SQL
  • Able to work successfully in a deadline-driven, fast paced environment and effectively multi-task priorities in a team-oriented environment
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing requirements and schedules
  • Demonstrates problem solving skills with the ability to think strategically
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Xamarin development experience is preferred
  • Embedded firmware development experience is preferred
Education & Experience Request
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
  • Experience may be substituted in lieu of degree
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in software development
  • Proficient in both embedded (C language) firmware, and also C#, including Xamarin (preferred)
