Electronics Technician II

Job Summary

Based in Cedarburg, WI the Electronics Technician II will be responsible for the developmental support & testing of wireless devices. This position will work within a team of additional, alternate discipline, design engineers (i.e., Embedded Firmware, Mobile Applications Developer, PCB CAD Engineer, Antenna Design Engineer, Industrial Design Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer, and EMC Engineer) in the support of new product development versus maintenance of pre-existing products or devices.

  • Accurately scope, quote, and schedule assigned technical project tasks
  • Work closely with Project Management and Project Engineers to track project milestones & project issues/risks
  • Coordinate PCBA assembly or manufacturing with domestic and global manufacturing facilities
  • Construction of electrical test plans and test reports
  • Perform & document electrical and environmental testing
  • Capture, document, and execute PCBA level changes within the design team
  • Contribute to design changes and design change logs
  • Capture and monitor project risks and issues to review while participating in weekly team meetings
  • 3D Antenna Chamber maintenance and operation
  • Material sourcing and logistics management to support projects
  • Work with our certified EMC Laboratory setting up and manipulating DUTs for EMC test
  • Actively participate in team technical design reviews
  • Design & construct custom solutions for programming & interface during product development
  • Circuit level schematic and layout understanding is a must
  • Experience and familiarity with common RF technology solutions in non-licensed bands
  • Ability to work toward defined objectives with minimal supervision
  • Familiarity with test equipment such as RF signal analyzers, VNAs, RF power meters, oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Ability to hand rework 0402 component size designs and BGA components
  • Understanding of common host serial communication protocols and programming environments
  • Experience with ATE systems (ex: TestStand, Labview, C#, etc.)
  • Experience with LitePoint test systems is a plus
  • Excellent mechanical skills are required
  • Production PCBA fabrication & assembly knowledge or experience
  • Excellent documentation skills and technical writing capability
Education & Experience Requested
  • Associate’s degree in Electrical Technology or a related field is preferred
  • 2+ years of directly related practical experience (5+yrs preferred)
