Account Manager, Northern California


Job Description

Job Summary

The Account Manager will manage 5 to 10 accounts to drive Laird’s Performance Material business in Northern California toward a $55M goal by 2021.  This individual contributor role will develop and execute aggressive sales strategies to find and ensure profitable revenue growth across the next wave of strategic customers.


The role is expected to develop into the next generation of Laird leadership.  Coachability and humility to balance a drive to be successful a must.

  • Manage all aspects of focused accounts to close business in multi-level sales situations
  • Develop new business relationships and customers by presenting Laird, its products, and capabilities
  • Achieve goals through clear communication of objectives, actions, and measurable results for all products within Performance Materials
  • Create tactical account plans capturing customer needs, strategy, relationship matrix, and milestones for both short (1 – 18 months) and long term (18 months to 3 years) goals
  • Reporting through monthly executive summaries including financials and forecasting. This includes account projections, action plans, (SFDC) CRM, QBR’s and NBO reviews
  • Program Management by leading a global cross-functional effort to ensure revenue realization
  • Design Win Moderator responsible for registering and tracking material within SFDC
  • Develop with Regional Sales Manager (Line Report) strategies, programs, and directional changes using data driven analysis of current market and activity
  • Provide strategic direction with FAE’s and distribution to address customer needs
  • Adhere to Laird ethics, quality, and safety standards
  • Geographically located in Northern California (Silicon Valley or San Francisco Preferred)
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong management, leadership and entrepreneurial skills to execute tactical and strategic objectives
  • Runs effective sales calls and can explain what an effective sales call contains
  • Demonstrated strategic account ownership and closing business as primary responsibility
  • Experience working with distribution channel partners
  • Strong business and analytical skills to manage budgets
  • Ability to work with product management and engineering on initiatives driven by customers
  • Able to gain customer alignment, internal agreement, and program commitments
Education & Experience Request

BA or higher degree or prior work experience (2 to 5 years) in lieu of formal education.
