Job Summary

Based in Cedarburg or Madison, WI and with minimal supervision, the Mobile Application Developer II will design and maintain software applications used in Laird products utilizing a broad knowledge level of software development processes. The person filling this role will also support both our Field Application Engineers as well as our Customers.

  • Leads Mobile App development projects following a formal process, including software design, development, code reviews, use of software standards, and testing
  • Coordinates the design, development and testing of new applications, as well as interfaces
  • Prepares, reviews and approves documents, including requirements analysis, design, unit testing plans, release notes and user guides etc.
  • May interact with clients to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications
  • Collaborates effectively with other groups and business partners
  • Delivers training, supervision and mentoring to the software development team
  • Investigates, recommends and implements new technologies
  • Rich knowledge on defining project scope, deliverables and team requirements
  • Ability to lead project teams and deliver results against milestones and deliverables
  • Proficient with various technologies including Xamarin, C#, C, C++, .NET, SQL
  • Experience developing mobile applications within an iOS and/or Android environment is a plus
  • Design, implement, test and debug mobile applications on several phone and OS versions
  • Able to work successfully in a deadline-driven, fast paced environment and effectively multi-task priorities in a team-oriented environment
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing requirements and schedules
  • Demonstrates problem solving skills with the ability to think strategically
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups
  • Strong attention to detail
Education & Experience Request
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
  • Experience may be substituted in lieu of degree
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in software development
  • Proficient in both Xamarin and C#
  • Experience developing applications utilizing WiFi or Bluetooth communications
